Not So Wordless Wednesday - The Laptop

I just wanted to share with you pictures of my screen. The black keeps spreading. My friend yesterday thought I had some artistic wallpaper on it, nope, just what happens when it gets smashed.

On the bright side my new laptop will be here today and I can get back to some serious work! I am really excited about the steps the blog will be taking this year!

A pep talk.

So I am running a bit behind with everything I wanted to do, because everything I have wanted to do was on my laptop. My laptop has been smashed. We can thank the newly two year old for that. Destructive tendencies are perfectly normal for a 2 year old, so I guess my kid is normal- however that also means my laptop is dead. It took him all of 2.5 seconds. I still have some great posts coming up for you- including the awesome birthday party, what I like to call our fun bag, more organizational tips going through my home binder, more reviews (and giveaways) diaper and "crunchy mom" related for sure, and some fun 'Fashion Friday" posts gearing up for the Spring Fashionista event! Yay! In the meantime, I needed a pep talk, and I thought maybe some of you could too, so here's kid president with a much needed pep talk for all of us. Enjoy! P.S. Leave a comment with something you would like to see coming up on the blog!

Ba-na-na

So there are a ton of banana's in my house. C could eat them all day every day. So these things have been going around the internet, and I just had to share them with you. I know we can all use a laugh. Don't miss the images on these reviews, number 33 had me cracking up. The reviews are great too. Anytime you need a laugh, just go here: Bananana

The next thing is this super cute video, that my little dude is loving too....

The Jeans

My jeans died today. They were the perfect pair of jeans, grey skinny cut, and they didn't make me look like a beached whale or like I stuffed too much meat in a sausage casing. I will truly miss them. I sent this email in mourning:

Dear Old Navy,

I regret to inform you the time has come to say farewell. We all know it happens, and most of us don’t expect it. Today was that day for me, and I must tell you- I was devastated. It is was the end of my favorite jeans. The first stage is denial, and it is true, when the zipper seized at the half way mark- I couldn’t believe it. There I was alone, thinking to myself “No no this isn’t happening, it’s not really stuck, there must be some other problem.” I yanked I pulled, and nothing happened. Then the second stage came in a rush “Come on you stupid pants, move your stupid zipper or else!” Realizing threats weren’t working I went on to the third stage of bargaining, “Please move, please, I swear I’ll give you a day off more often, I will wear you with that shirt you like, please please just move!!!” Then there was depression, which I must admit there is still a twinge of this. Finally acceptance came, when I realized there is nothing I can do, my favorite jeans that fit just right, in the perfect color, are gone. They are no more. Now I just have to live with the fact that my jeans are no more, the perfect pair of pants is gone, you made them and I thank you, and now we mourn then search for a new pair- hopefully we can find them together.

Indestructable - A Mama's Emporium Review

One think I love about Mama's Emporium is that you get something free with every order, usually it's little stuff, a detergent sample, or sample of teething oil, lanolin, or something else she knows you like- but every once in awhile you get a really nice surprise. Imagine my shock when I opened up my package to find a copy of Plip Plop Pond!
http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/97/80/76/11/58/9780761158578_300X300.jpg

These books are wonderful, nice and sturdy- we even tried to rip it and we couldn't! These books are non-toxic, and are made for baby to chew and play with. As a bonus when they get funky- you can just toss them in the dishwasher or washing machine. How awesome is that?

I think my favorite part of the book is that there are no words, so we get to make up a new story every time we read the book, I am really looking forward to when C starts reading the stories to me I think these books are going to make for some wonderful creative play!

Right now they are on sale at Mama's Emporium so go check them out!

I received this book for free from Mama's emporium with a paid order, and I wrote this honest review because I wanted to! :)

Wordless Wednesday

I was just thinking about how I would love to travel more, I would love to take my husband and son on an adventure outside of the US. Here are some pictures I took while in Istanbul with my mom and brothers in 2009.

Organization Tools

One thing I tried and failed to do last year was get organized. I read all these blogs about all of these women that just seem so put together, they have their magic binders that help keep everything in balance, and life is magical. Well last year I did make myself a binder, I planned meals for two weeks, and then it sat on my shelf for the last three months of the year.

However this year I am going to try again. I pulled out my binders (I actually made two, one for budgeting and one for various things around the home) and I am getting back to work! I am going to make sure that I keep things on track this year! (Go me!) Last year when I did this I scoured the web for what I felt were some of the best and most helpful tools available for making a home management binder. Your needs are probably going to be a bit different since your family is not the same as mine. However, if you have "Get Organized" as one of your new years resolutions, you might find this helpful as well!

The very first thing I have in my binder is a one page yearly calendar. I went to the same Creative Mamma to get my calendar as I did this year. She does amazing work and you should check her out. I went with her Kawaii Mini Calendar because I think it's adorable and I like to open up my binder to something fun.

She has other options as well, such as doodle calendars and weekly planners, and other fun stuff like printable gift tags. Not only is this mamma creative, but she's talented too.

As the weeks go on, I will share more info with you on how my binder is set up and what else is in it. If you just can't wait, feel free to check out my Pinterest board  Organizational Peace to find out more!

Happy New Year!

Source Unknown
Happy New Year to everyone! I hope this is your best year ever!

I know things have been quiet around here lately, but I have been working "behind the scenes" to make some arrangements to improve this blog, so keep an eye out for some great new content, and a regular updating schedule! I also have some awesome reviews in the works as well! I am striving to make my 2013 my best year ever as well. The start of the year is always the busiest for me, especially this year. I have my final class before I get my degree, then we have my sons birthday on the 21st, he will be 2 this year! Time flies so fast! I have been planning his birthday for a couple of months now, so I hope it is epic! My father turns 70 in a few days, and I am still trying to figure out something amazing to do for him, any suggestions would be welcome (he lives in Texas, so he's not nearby that makes it a bit harder.)

I don't make new years resolutions, but I do have goals for the new year, I want to pull out my home management binder, and home budget binder that have been gathering dust and put them back to work. I also have a goal of feeling better about myself (I think this is going to be the hard one.)

Do you make new years resolutions? If so what is yours for 2013?
